To achieve the linear effect you must use and LED strip with the appropriate number of LEDs per meter or higher.

Please note that when using traditional strip dotting may still occur when the strip is dimmed to its lowest level.

To avoid this, you can use any of our LED COB Strip options which will offer linear light in any situation.

Although the profile itself only has a rating of IP20, you can use the profile in an outdoor environment.

In order to do this, the LED strip used must IP65 or above.

If the profile is to be mounted in an area where it is likely to be submerged for any amount of time, we? recommend you speak to us to discuss your planned use or look to an alternative product with an IP68 rating such as Neon flex.

The aluminium profile can be cut. We recommend you use a chop saw to do this, but any hack saw will cut the profile.

The chop saw offers better control when attempting corners or bends.

If you are “butting” 2 length together to create an extended run, we recommend that you swap the diffusers over so that the joints in the diffuser are not parallel to that of the base.

When planning you design, please take account of the cut points of the LED strip being installed with the profile. The cut lengths should be withing 10-15mm of a cut point of the strip to give good coverage and avoid zones at the end of you run. The 10-15mm also allows enough room for a stable connection within the profile for the power feed.

The use of profile helps with the performance of LED strips.

When in operation, LED strip generates heat. The profile acts as a heat sync allowing the heat to transmit away from the strip thus keeping it at optimum temperature.

If you don’t require Profile for a design reason, it is still highly advisable to include a heat sync – such as our PRO-0.

If strip is mounted directly to a surface, especially an insulating surface such as MDF & wood, this will reduce the life of the strip and mean that failures will occur sooner rather than later

Each length is supplied with mounting clips. These can be fixed by the use of small 3mm grubbing screws if fitting to wood or narrow headed screws in plugs if into brick or plaster.

Ensure, that these are mounted in a straight line with regular spacing. We recommend at least x1 clip every 600mm.

If joining 2 lengths, try to zone a clip across the join of the base as this improves stability.

When the profile is Nano or standard the use of double sided tape on clean surfaces is also an option
